HYALURONIC ACID HIGH / MEDIUM MOLECULAR WEIGHT - inci name: Sodium hyaluronate
It is the sodium salt of Hyaluronic Acid, a high molecular weight polysaccharide from the glycosaminoglycan group. This type of Hyaluronic Acid acts on a superficial level to maintain hydration, in particular through two mechanisms: firstly by penetrating the superficial subcutaneous layers, where it gives turgidity to the tissue with a temporary smoothing and filling of small wrinkles; secondly by binding to a high quantity of water molecules, ensuring hydration. Medium molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid retains more water molecules thanks to its size, but is not absorbed deeply into the skin precisely because of its size. The fact that it stops more on the surface allows the medium molecular weight acid to help gradually make wrinkles less visible and the skin softer.
