Organic Horse Chestnut Extract - circulatory stimulant. The main substance present is Escin which is a mixture of triterpenic saponins extracted from Aesculus Hippocastanum. β-escin, in particular, is considered the main molecule responsible for the vasoprotective effects.
It is characterized by a strong draining and detoxifying effect useful in cases of accumulation of toxins, it promotes microcirculation and cellular turnover, has a vasoprotective action and strengthens the vascular connective tissue.
It is used in the cosmetic field mainly in preparations for the treatment of cellulite blemishes where its use is often foreseen in association with cholesterol (cholesterol/escin) or with extracts of ivy, butcher's broom and birch.
It is used in astringent, lightening and refreshing preparations and is useful for reducing swelling and excessive dilation of the venules, for alleviating the feeling of tiredness and reactivating peripheral circulation.
Green Tea Extract – draining, lipolytic, antioxidant. It is mainly made up of polyphenols and xanthine bases (theophylline). Polyphenols, among which catechins prevail, are responsible for the strong antioxidant property of the phytocomplex which translates into a protective action at the microcirculation level and anti-free radicals in anti-aging products.
Theophylline, on the other hand, activates the basal metabolism, promoting lipolysis and the drainage of excess fluids, facilitating the elimination of fatty deposits and the reshaping of the silhouette.
Caffeine - lipolytic, draining. It has lipolytic properties but its ability to stimulate drainage and the removal of stagnant liquids (anti-edematous function) is also notable.
Caffeine is used in the formulation of cosmetic products for the treatment of cellulite and localized adiposity.
Phosphatidylcholine – carrier, anti-adiposity. The use of phosphatidylcholine in topical formulations has strong anti-aging qualities as it promotes the biosynthetic pathway of proliferation of fibroblasts, fundamental components of the structure of the dermis. Thanks to its affinity for membrane lipids together with its ability to penetrate through the deepest layers of the epidermis.
This last peculiar characteristic also makes it the ideal molecule for conveying active components, in cosmetic formulations, right up to the cell membrane to have maximum activity in situ where the function of the active ingredients manifests itself most effectively.
